Dr. Suhas is a clinician in the specialty of Oral Medicine and Dentomaxillofacial Radiology. He graduated from Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Manipal, Karnataka (www.manipal.edu) followed by specialty training in the field of Oral Medicine and Dentomaxillofacial Radiology from M.R.Ambedkar Dental College, Bangalore.
On completion, he has worked as Assistant professor at College of Dental Surgery, BPKIHS, Nepal (www.bpkihs.edu/) and later shifted to Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Manipal (www.manipal.edu) where he has served as faculty for five years. He has also worked as Reader at K.D. Dental College, Mathura. He is presently working as Professor in the Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology, Sri Siddhartha Dental College, Tumkur.
He has special interest in orofacial pain including TMJ disorders and research interest areas include oral premalignancy and radiation biology.
His work on a novel ingenious technique that attempts at modifying behavior of people with halitophobia was nominated for IADR, Giddon award 2005.
He was also associated with Division of Radiobiology and Toxicology, Manipal Life sciences Center, Manipal where he has worked on radiation induced cell damage from dental radiation sources.
